LASER

What is Laser Therapy?

Cold Laser Therapy is the application of photons of red or near infared light over injuries or wounds to improve soft tissue healing and relieve both acute and chronic pain. The light energy is absorbed by the mitochondria in cells and transferred into biochemical energy that is then available for cell use. The application is painless. There is no burning as with surgical laser.

"2500 published papers and 120 randomised control trials speak to remarkable effectiveness"

What is the difference between high powered laser (class iv) and cold laser (class iiib)?

There is a common misconception that "bigger is better" in human logic. This pertains here as well. With cold laser application there is usually a "sweet spot" of energy that will have a benefit in healing tissue. If you have a low powered laser it may take a couple of minutes to achieve that dose. As the the laser becomes higher powered the dose is achieved faster. If a laser is too low powered, you may not achieve therapeutic dosage on the other hand if the laser is too powerfull, you may produce too much heat which is also detrimental to the healing effects of laser. So in the hands of a skilled practioner both are usefull. In the hands of someone unskilled both are useless.

How fast will I see results?

The speed at which you see results involves many factors. Some see marked improvement after one treatment, others will require a more lengthy treatment plan to achieve results. Most patients will see significant improvement between one and eight visits.

Why us?

Dr. Chauhan has incorporated laser therapy in his practice for over 10 years. He monitors the latest findings on this type of treatment and integrates it in his daily practice to benefit the patient. With this type of treatment, the effectiveness is often more dependent on the knowledge of the treating practioner, than the equipment itself. Choose wisely.

"We have been using lasers on our patients before most physiotherapists, chiropractors and physicians even knew what lasers were"- Dr. Paul Chauhan
